Insulating with blown wool is a method which consistes of applying wool in attics, between the floors and walls, using a pneumatic system and a hose . This technique has been used for over 50 years and is praised in the construction industry. Blown wool provides uniform coverage and is seamless, regardless of the surfaces, even the most irregular. It fills all the cracks and all the joints in the structure and thus, definitively eliminating possible heat flows. This result is impossible to achieve with regularly used wool pads. Installation is fast because it takes just about an hour and a half to insulate most single-family homes attics.
Blown wool reduces installation time during construction, increases occupant comfort and allows you to save on heating costs. In addition, you get a guaranteed high quality job at a very competitive price.
Advantages of blown wool
Uses
When blown wool is used in ventilated attics, wool stoppers like “cardboard” or “Styrovent” deflectors, depending on the case, must first be installed. They are essential because they impede the movement and dumping of blown wool in the roof cornice (soffit). They therefore provide better ventilation while eliminating the whirling of the air in the attic, caused by outside gusts of wind.
The wool stops should be securely fastened between each roof post, even with the outside perimeter of the building so that the attic insulation overlaps the insulation of external walls
